Investigator

Investigator is a copper prospect that shares many geological characteristics with the nearby Capricorn Copper Mine (ASX:29M).

The project is located 100km north of the Mt Isa, home to rich copper-lead-zinc mines that have been worked for almost a century.

Investigator is hosted in the same stratigraphy and a similar fault architecture as the Capricorn Copper Mine which is located 12km to the north.

The project has seen no modern exploration and importantly, no holes have been drilled in the most prospective stratigraphic and structural positions.

Investigator is situated in the Western Succession of the Proterozoic Mt Isa Inlier. The project area is located on the Mount Gordon Fault Zone, a major regional fault that hosts mineralisation at Capricorn Copper (Mammoth and Esperanza Mines) and at Mount Oxide. Mapping has identified large hematite – chlorite breccia bodies along the east-west oriented Investigator Fault zone that are similar to breccias that host rich copper mineralisation at the Mammoth Mine.
